Who really decided what "normal" is? Who decides the seats for airplanes, amusement park rides and movie theaters are just so big? Who figures out that a restaurant chair can't be comfortable enough for a large derriere but willing to feed the same person until the cows come home?, or that a someone larger than 180lbs can't fit in a regular bathroom and have to sneak in the handicaped stall available?

A good question to which, I am sorry to say, has no good answer.
But I willing to bet, whoever it was does not have to concern him or herself with such considerations, and therefore has no capacity to see things from the other side of life.
